During a recent demonstration conducted in Israel, the RAFAEL Drone Dome C-UAS system successfully intercepted several drones, including moving targets, using the Hard-Kill LASER BEAM. Hard-Kill refers to defending against a threat through destruction. The system was 100% successful in all test scenarios.
The phases of interception included target detection, identification, and interception using a high-power laser beam.
Drone Dome is an innovative end-to-end C-UAS solution designed to secure airspace against hostile drones. Ready for deployment and utilized globally, Drone Dome offers a modular and robust infrastructure consisting of electronic countermeasures and sensors, enabling effective detection, complete identification, and neutralization of multiple micro and mini UAV threats using its unique algorithms.
One of the unique capabilities of Drone Dome is the integration of laser technology for combating threats. When positive identification is made by the C4I, the system assigns the target to the laser effector, which captures and tracks the target and performs the hard-kill. This is well shown in the VIDEO.
Drone Dome was developed to address threats from hostile drones at both military and civilian locations, providing advanced solutions for maneuver forces and military installations, for protecting critical borders, as well as for civilian targets such as airports, public facilities, or other places that could be exposed to the increasing threat of terrorism and criminal drones.
Drone Dome is a member of the RAFAEL family of active air and missile defense technologies, which includes the operational and combat-proven Iron Dome, David's Sling, and the SPYDER family. Together, they form a range of multi-layered solutions against a variety of air threats.
