Poland's President Duda announces donation of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. Decision made in Warsaw, awaiting coalition approval. Potential support from US and Germany. Tanks part of international coalition effort. Duda received warmly in Lviv.
Poland will send a company of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine (probably 14 tanks).
After a meeting with Zelensky in Lviv, Polish President Duda said today at a press conference that the decision was made in Warsaw, but it will only be done "within the framework of the coalition." This probably means: Poland is the icebreaker. And if it's discussed with the Americans, the Germans will most likely say yes. Duda stated: "A company of Leopard 2 will be handed over, but as you know, formal requirements, approvals, etc. must also be met. But above all, we want it to be an international coalition."
