POLEN: The K2 is the best tank "ever"

How good is the tank we want? The Poles wanted to know and had the 16th Mechanized Division of the Polish Army create an evaluation report on the K2 Black Panther combat tank. The document from April 2023 was not published anywhere in Polish, but the content leaked on a Korean website and now discovered by a Polish colleague. This is the Polish verdict on the K2:

1. Excellent Mobility - the K2 received the highest score in all maneuverability categories.
   - Support for local language (Polish) and user-friendly interface.
   - Upon startup, the parts required for operation are automatically checked and can be started by simple preheating.
   - The turret can be rotated via an external power supply.
2. Excellent on-site maintenance functionality.
   - Easy replacement of optical devices that can be damaged in combat.
3. Reduced combat fatigue of K2 tank crews.
   - The automatic loader allows for quick loading of ammunition under all conditions.
   - The hydropneumatic suspension reduces crew fatigue.
   - Excellent situational awareness on the battlefield through integrated monitors.
   - Easy to use coaxial weapon.
   - No hindrance when carrying personal weapon.
   - Large field of view.
   - Suitable for combat day and night, over long distances, or in poor weather conditions.
4. Hunter-Killer capability, i.e. fire control system - more than one generation better than Leopard, Abrams, etc.

Improvement needs according to Poland:

1. The driver's hatch is small and awkwardly positioned.
2. Incorrect position of the 12.7 mm secondary weapon on the turret.
3. Unnecessary infrared radiation from the RCWS (? presumably referring to the weapon station)

Conclusion: K2 Black Panther - the best tank ever!

This is a convincing verdict of the testing team, especially if one wants to order around 1,000 units and establish a joint industry with the Koreans to build the tanks in Poland and sell even more K2s throughout Europe as a result.
