Photo File: Wilcox MHRS on TC-2001

03/29/2012By Redaktion

In the picture you can see the Mission Helmet Recording System (MHRS) and other items from WILCOX, belonging to Albert Au-Yeung's MICH 2001. With this MHR system, video and/or audio recordings of missions can be conducted. The camera is the small thing at the end of the cable on the left side of the shrouds. This camera can also be directly connected to the NVG, allowing videos to be taken through the NVG.

The black containers are for power supply. They fit two CR123A batteries. The power is transmitted directly over the strap, the Modular Powered Track, without any additional cables. The thin black wire with the knob at the end is the microphone.

On the backside is the recording module. Up to 13 hours of video can be stored on memory cards, and up to 130 hours of audio. Data can be read using a normal USB cable. The MHRS costs around $7,500, making it anything but a bargain. The weight of the entire setup is approximately 600g excluding the NVG arm. For a closer look at all the individual parts and their prices, we refer you to the Wilcox website.

Special thanks to Albert Au-Yeung for the pictures!
