The Bundeswehr once again wants something completely different. And this could be it. Currently, there are two candidates left in the tender for the next German assault rifle, while all others have long been eliminated. The HK433 from Heckler & Koch has a chance to win, with its current competitor coming from Haenel. What's even more exciting is that the latest versions of the HK433 were included in the photo shoot with CONCAMO right at the training ground at Heckler & Koch. We give you the latest information.
But first, let's talk about the gear that plays the main role: Gear in CONCAMO. Let's start with the helmet: the fresh camouflage material is from NONVIDE - at IWA 2019 we took a closer look at their first products. The uniform also comes from UF PRO: we have already introduced the Stryker Gen. 2 on SPARTANAT. HERE is the CONCAMO page at UF PRO. The plate carrier is laser cut from md-textil. HERE you can see the detailed pictures from IWA 2019. In hand: an HK433 with Aimpoint.
Here's the HK433 with equipment for the elite: The EOTech G33 Set consisting of a reflex sight and magnifier comes from I-E-A Miloptics. Also visible is the L3 Insight NGAL weapon laser, which the KSK receives together with the EOTech combo. However, this will be mounted on the new assault rifle of the "German Special Forces, the G95K - HERE you can find all information about the G95K from Heckler & Koch.
The HK433 is a gas-operated reloading rifle with an impulse piston. Unlike the G36, the upper receiver of the HK433 is made from high-strength aluminum. The HK433, which is largely based on the G36 and the HK416, is intended to combine most of their advantages in one rifle. For example, a similar locking spring construction as in the G36 enables a folding stock, which could not be realized on the HK416 - due to the AR-15 based design with a shoulder stock mounted on the locking spring rod.
Unlike the G36, the firearm uses the STANAG magazines also used in the HK416. Additionally, the dust cover of the HK416/AR-15 was omitted in favor of a similar construction to the G36, with a shell deflector.
The HK433 is said to be available with barrel lengths of 280 mm (11"), 318 mm (12.5"), 368 mm (14.5"), 421 mm (16.5"), 480 mm (18.9"), and 503 mm (20"), and in the future, other calibers such as 7.62 × 51 mm NATO, 7.62 × 39 mm, and .300 AAC Blackout may be offered.
The housing has a long top rail for mounting optics and accessories, a shorter rail on the underside of the handguard, and HKey interfaces on the sides of the handguard for precise accessory mounting. Additionally, an unmanipulable, wirelessly readable shot counter is installed inside the rifle.
The pistol grip with fire selector is available in both G36 and HK416 designs, to allow for an easy transition for as many potential customers as possible who have used one of these rifles before.
These are the most recent data and specifications for the rifle, as provided directly by Heckler & Koch. Also available as a PDF here: HK433 Datasheet
Barely visible, the man with the HK433 and lots of CONCAMO. For those who want to see more field tests with CONCAMO: Photo File: CONCAMO field test 1. And here: Field test 2.
The folding stock, which somehow reminds a bit of a SCAR, can be individually adjusted to the shooter. It's also interesting to see the various colors on the rifle and the new HK polymer magazine.
Contrary to the brownish fashion colors, the HK433 will also be available in plain black. In addition, Flat Dark Earth, RAL 8000 Green Brown, and RAL8031 Sand Brown will be available.
