Photo File: Crye Precision JPC Prototype

12/04/2014By Redaktion

"Erlkönig" is what you call prototypes of cars that are out on public roads but are not meant to be recognized. Somehow, this is one of those "Erlkönig" situations. It is a Jumpable Plate Carrier from Crye Precision, but it is indeed a prototype that differs from the final production batch. There is no integrated Admin Pouch here, and no flap to hold magazines or MBITR Pouch or secure the Cumberbund.

What immediately stands out at first glance: the shoulder straps are not made of Hypalon and monocolor, but like the body of the carrier, they are made of Cordura.

Also, the interior view looks different: all Multicam, no Coyote Stretch.

The attachment system for the Cumberbund has changed significantly: in the current JPC, it is tied down with a Shock Cord.

In detail: Here you can remove the Cumberbund, but there is still a clip with a band that is fixed. The Cumberbund is adjustable with snap buttons. and the side SAPI pockets are also differently designed. They are fully velcroed, whereas the current ones have two MOLLE straps.

Parts laid up. HERE is the current JPC on Crye's website.
