This abstract highlights the new equipment supplied by Clawgear to the Austrian special forces, Jagdkommando. The review covers their uniforms, weapon accessories, and gear used during exercises. The article showcases the innovative equipment used by the elite forces.
The Jagdkommando from Austria are the special forces of the Armed Forces. Today, however, we want to take a closer look at their new equipment, especially because the new uniforms and parts of the weapon accessories are supplied by Clawgear. We have detailed the Jagdkommando uniform in the SPARTANAT Review HERE. In the photo file here, we see them in action during various exercises of the elite in Wiener Neustadt.
But it starts with the weapon parts from Clawgear: As already shown in the main image, the Steyr AUG Kommando also features the Clawgear M-LOK Handguard for the AUG. You can find our review of it HERE. The clear advantage of the slim handguard: the shooter can now grip the Steyr AUG like Travis Haley himself in the C-Clamp, making the short StG77 very manageable.
The man on the left in the picture is completely dressed in Clawgear combat uniform. The man on the right in the picture just can't part with his Crye-style pants, which are from Invader Gear, but he remains loyal to Clawgear for the top. The laser light module used on the weapon is the Vario Ray by Rheinmetall. The Jagdkommando also uses the LUCIE (Gen 2) from Thales as a night vision device – HERE is a datasheet.
This is how bright the Vario Ray can shine. It's nice to see on the Clawgear Combatshirt the design of the Velcro area on the upper arm. Here, pens or chemlights can be stored. The bundle of marked chemlights on the belt is used to mark cleared rooms.
Patches are always popular, especially if they are IR reflective. The model IR Austria used here is also produced by Clawgear. Incidentally, there is a suitable patch for almost every country. The soldier in the picture is using an Aimpoint Micro T2 instead of the Comp M2 mounted on the AUG optic.
The hearing protection from Peltor is omnipresent, the Jagdkommando wears the FAST Super High Cut Helmet from Ops-Core, while the regular troops of the Bundesheer have the Sentry with more ear coverage. The weapon clearly shows the configuration preferred by the Jagdkommando. The fixed triple optics of the Commando variant of the Stg77 is lower than that of the standard assault rifle. A red dot sight is mounted. The Jagdkommando likes the Aimpoint Comp M2, here with a protective cover. The Laser Light Module Vario Ray is mounted on the side next to the optics group with a small rail attached to the housing. Here you can also see the M-LOK Handguard from Clawgear and the button for the Vario Ray directly under the shooter's thumb.
Here, different gear worlds truly collide. Handguard from the AUG and patch are from Clawgear. However, the Combat Shirt is from UF PRO and the Ten-Speed Pistol Pouch is a Blue Force Gear copy from the Chinese manufacturer TMC, as well as the radio pouch from Emerson Gear. Surely privately and cheaply sourced ...
For the Velcro areas of the Clawgear combat shirts, there are also matching covers, the Velcro on the left has disappeared. Also interesting is the Tasmanian Tiger Small Medic Pack in Multicam used as a waist bag, we would guess that the man on the right could be the medic. The plate carriers worn by the gentlemen in the image are from Lindnerhof Taktik.
