Slovakia and Finland have signed a comprehensive government agreement for the purchase of 76 armored combat vehicles (ACVs) from Patria.
In March 2022 - we reported - the Slovak Ministry of Defense selected Finland and Patria AMVxp 8×8 as the winner of the tender for the BOV 8×8 program. The Patria AMVxp 8×8 emerged victorious after system tests and evaluation of the feasibility study. At the end of March, the Slovak government announced that the Slovak Ministry of Defense had authorized the start of contract negotiations with Finland and Patria. The agreed purchase includes 76 armored combat vehicles in three vehicle variants.
In addition, there is an economic program in Slovakia: As part of the Slovak BOV 8×8 program, Patria will contribute to the development of the local engineering and defense industry by sharing technical expertise and innovations in the field of armored modular vehicles. Geographically, the industrial cooperation extends across Slovakia.
