In autumn, it's that time again - the Bundeswehr armed forces will demonstrate their defense readiness as part of the large-scale exercise Quadriga 2025 this year as well. Taking part: The Panzergrenadier Brigade 37. Around 2,000 servicewomen and servicemen will present the German Army at Grand Eagle.
Since January 2025, the Panzergrenadier Brigade 37 "Free State of Saxony" has again been designated for a NATO mission. As part of the 10th Armored Division, it is the Multinational Brigade Lithuania, the brigade with the highest availability and readiness of the German army. It strengthens NATO's forward presence and, together with allied partners, makes a fundamental contribution to deterrence and defense capability on NATO's eastern flank and for the reassurance of the local population. All branches of the Bundeswehr work hand in hand in this effort. After the Air Force in 2023 and the Army in 2024, this year's exercise series is led by the Navy. A special feature for X37 in September – a large part of their vehicles will be transported together with the Navy via sea.
At the beginning of September, the servicewomen and servicemen will relocate with nearly 1,000 vehicles to Lithuania as part of Grand Eagle. This makes the Panzergrenadier Brigade 37 a quarter of the total 8,000 involved servicewomen and servicemen in the exercise series Quadriga 2025. Open exercise segments and a command post exercise await the brigade and its support units. Forces should be able to be transported to the eastern flank as quickly as possible using all modes of transport, including by ship, air and rail transport, as well as by road march.
