Pantsir with Wagner in Libya

The anti-aircraft missile and gun complex Pantsir-S1 on the MAN-SX45 chassis is in operation with the Wagner Group. Libya, 2020. In Libya, the "orchestra" has gained experience in the work and application of air defense systems/missile defense for the following conflicts and has systematized it. The use of equipment such as Pantsir-S1 was already a clear indication that the Wagner Group could not be as "private" as it was portrayed.

Wagner has fought against enemy pilots and unmanned aerial vehicles in Libya, shooting down more than two dozen Turkish Bayraktar TB-2 drones, as well as allegedly at least two heavy American MQ-9 Reaper attack and reconnaissance drones. The shooting down of one of these drones was later recognized by the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM). Furthermore, one of the Western drones was allegedly "placed" almost undamaged and later brought to Russia, for which the commander of this group was awarded the title of "Hero of Russia."
