Glock wins contract to supply French Army with new service pistols named PANG GLOCK 17 Gen5. 75,000 pistols will be delivered over next 3 years.
PANG! What sounds colloquially like someone is trying to take down a Tasmanian Tiger is actually quite different. Glock has – we reported – won the major government contract to equip the French Army with new service pistols. PANG stands for "Pistolet Automatique de Nouvelle Génération" and is a GLOCK 17 Gen5 pistol. Over the next three years, a total of 75,000 PANG GLOCK 17 pistols will be delivered to the French Army. The first weapons will be handed over in the coming months.
Now, a pistol also needs some magazines, without which it would be of little value. And magazines, in turn, need to be inserted somewhere on the equipment, ideally in a good pouch that keeps them well protected and always within reach. This is where TASMANIAN TIGER comes in: because the magazines of the PANG GLOCK 17 are going into service in TASMANIAN TIGER pistol magazine pouches. Above is the original PANG magazine pouch for Glock. HERE you can find out everything about the new service weapon of the French Army.
