Get hands-on. Personal. The goods directly from the factory. Very fresh. In the corner, there are even a few things we haven't seen. But otherwise, everything is set up, what the SIG SAUER house has to offer and what is relevant for us at SPARTANAT. Government weapons are on the table, made for police and military. And also the necessary accessories. SIG SAUER Optics - INTRODUCED here on SPARTANAT - and silencers, weapon lights, and ammunition. What men and women need for their missions. We were on tour at SIG SAUER.
The basic program: Three times AR15? Not quite... The SIG 716 offers a proven solution in 7.62, the SIG 516 is the classic AR15 from SIG SAUER. Available in different barrel lengths, from CQB (11.5 inches) to carbine (14.5 inches) to patrol (16 inches). On the far right is the new flagship from SIG SAUER for the assault rifle category: the MCX Virtus. It ranges from nine to 16 inches, with or without suppressor, and the two caliber options 5.56 or 300 BLK. The MCX is currently being used by the German police.
The MCX is highly modular. Or as we like to say: Lego for men.
When it comes to calibers, 9mm is still an argument. SIG SAUER offers a submachine gun that is an interesting cross-over between a classic 9mm submachine gun and an AR15. That's how the MPX looks.
A picture is worth a thousand words. These are the options with the MPX.
Speaking of calibers: With the threat of Kalashnikovs, there is a discussion in Western countries about increasing calibers. This would be an option to equalize: the MCX in 300 BLK packs more punch on the street. And this power can also be felt at the shooting range. Quite surprisingly, the MCX with suppressor and 300 BLK subsonic ammunition. It sounds as delicate as a small caliber rifle.
Where does the ammunition come from - the empty shell of a 300 BLK? Of course, from SIG SAUER. As a system house, the weapon can be supplied with all accessories such as optics and lights. And the appropriate feed, ammunition from SIG SAUER.
For those who want more peace or protection against counterattacks, because the weapon signature is not visible and the sound is harder to locate, you can also rely on suppressors from SIG SAUER.
These are available for larger calibers (left) down to pistols and submachine guns (right) and everything in between, with various mounting options.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to try it out in the shooting range at SIG SAUER. The SIG 716 G2 DMR combines precision with the firing speed of a semi-automatic.
Also on the table: the full range of SIG P320. With this weapon, SIG SAUER has successfully established itself with the US Army. Extremely exciting to be able to try out the different grips in several sizes and options directly from the table at the shooting range.
Once again: Lego for men. Different grip modules, barrel lengths, slides, and magazine sizes. The P320 was extremely pleasant to shoot.
Small and practical, and here on a P320: the FOXTROTT1 weapon light looks good, is easy to operate (from the right and left finger) and shines successfully.
Say goodbye quietly. The day was longer than expected, extremely exciting. Thanks to the very friendly team at SIG SAUER in Eckernförde. And we also took a photo, traditionally with a patch as a greeting to the colleagues at Soldier Systems Daily.
