It continues, Austria is modernizing its tank fleet. They have an exciting Leopard solution in sight: Inside A7, outside A4. For the Leopard battle tank, components for which there are no spare parts are being replaced. Night combat capability is being restored through new optics, and the turret hydraulics are being replaced by an electric drive. The first vehicles will be delivered to KMW in 2023. The Leopard 2A4 battle tanks were purchased by the Dutch armed forces at the end of the 1990s. The 48 tanks are stationed at Tank Battalion 14 in Wels.
For the Ulan Infantry Fighting Vehicle, the optics are being renewed, the electronic components for the turret drive are being replaced, the electrical system is being renovated, and the track components are being replaced. The first vehicles will be delivered to the manufacturer GDELS-STEYR in 2023. The Ulan Infantry Fighting Vehicle was introduced in the Austrian Armed Forces in 2002. 102 units are used by the Panzergrenadier Battalion 13 in Ried/Innkreis and Panzergrenadier Battalion 35 in Großmittel.
