The DMO, the procurement organization of the Dutch Ministry of Defense, which supplies the armed forces with efficient and secure equipment, has commissioned DEFENTURE to deliver at least 41 light tactical vehicles. These DEFENTURE GRF vehicles (referred to by the Ministry of Defense as VECTOR) will be delivered to the Airborne Mobile Brigade (11 LMB), an army unit. This contract also gives the Ministry the option to purchase more vehicles over a longer period in the future.
For almost 10 years, DEFENTURE has been the leading specialist in the development and assembly of light tactical vehicles. The company originated from the successful contract to deliver 50 vehicles for the Dutch Command Corps (KCT), which evolved into an extended order for 76 GRF/VECTOR vehicles.
From day one, DEFENTURE has aimed to set new standards in the light tactical vehicle market. The GRF, they believe, is the perfect vehicle for key military units. The vehicle was developed from scratch for military purposes in close collaboration with users (KCT) and renowned knowledge centers.

The GRF/VECTOR vehicles have been in use for several years now, and the global demand for the vehicles has since grown tremendously. In addition to the GRF, DEFENTURE has two other platforms in its portfolio, the SCORPION and the MAMMOTH.
In addition, the DMO has commissioned DEFENTURE to develop and produce around 300 military diesel-powered quads, the SCORPION, for the Dutch Armed Forces such as KCT and 11 LMB. Defenture is also actively involved in the development of a larger version of the GRF with a payload of 3,500 kilograms, the MAMMOTH. This vehicle is specially designed for the German Special Forces Command (KSK). Like the SCORPION, there is also significant interest from other European countries in the MAMMOTH.

With pride, DEFENTURE now announces that the Airborne Mobile Brigade will also be using the GRF vehicles. On December 19, 2022, the Dutch DMO and DEFENTURE signed a contract for at least 41 GRF vehicles. The Ministry of Defense is filling the gap created by the discontinuation of the 12kN AASLT program in 2021.
The Airborne Mobile Brigade has been in need of a suitable vehicle for some time, for which another provider was commissioned in 2018. However, this contract was terminated, and Germany and the Netherlands have jointly decided to procure these vehicles through a German tender. DEFENTURE's GRF platform is one of the competitors in this procurement.
Specially developed military modular vehicle systems based on a uniformly designed platform like the GRF and the MAMMOTH are the future. The vehicles are developed in close collaboration with users and renowned centers of expertise, ensuring uniformity and interoperability between the systems for countries choosing to purchase and use DEFENTURE vehicles. The Dutch, German, and Swiss armed forces use multiple versions and configurations from the DEFENTURE portfolio. In 2023, new procurement projects and orders will further enhance interoperability throughout Europe.
Signing the contract is therefore a significant event for both the Dutch Armed Forces and DEFENTURE. The Dutch Command Corps and the Airborne Mobile Brigade often operate together, making interoperability crucial. This contract also means a reduction in operating costs, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the armed forces significantly by using DEFENTURE vehicles.
To accommodate this growth, DEFENTURE is expanding both in terms of personnel and location. Professionals from the automotive industry, production industry, and defense sector are collaborating to produce, deliver, and maintain the most reliable and safest vehicles at the lowest life cycle costs.
In the fall of 2023, DEFENTURE will deliver the first vehicles to the Airborne Mobile Brigade and expects to have delivered the first batch of 41 GRF vehicles by mid-2024.
