On October 18, the youngest child of Rheinmetall was presented in Brisbane, Australia: the Lynx Combat Support Vehicle (CSV) was presented at an event at the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) of the company in Redbank, Queensland. Rheinmetall CEO Gary Stewart emphasized that the Lynx CSV is the "most sophisticated and capable armored vehicle ever developed and built in Australia". It is based on a version of the Lynx KF41 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).
The Australia Made Campaign Limited (AMCL) has awarded Rheinmetall and the Lynx Combat Support Vehicle with the Made in Australia quality label. Stewart stated, "With the CSV, soldiers can perform recovery, repair, maneuver support, and support logistics tasks with a vehicle that shares similarities with the existing Lynx IFV." The Lynx CSV is a little miracle worker: it has additional onboard fuel capacity to support refueling of other vehicles in the field; has a roof-mounted crane capable of lifting more than 5 tons, allowing it to tow other vehicles that use the crane; in addition, it has interchangeable units and excavation equipment, including a clamshell grab and rock breaker. The modular remote weapon station can be configured with a range of weapons and ammunition from 7.62mm, 12.7mm to 40mm grenades. "The Lynx CSV is positioned for export to allied forces from Australia," said Rheinmetall CEO Stewart.
