New LPVO optics for SOCOM

The US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has awarded Lightforce USA an IDIQ contract worth $17.67 million for Squad-Variable Powered Scopes (S-VPS) and Precision-Variable Power Scopes (P-VPS). Lightforce will deliver both standard and long-range variants of S-VPS and P-VPS, the Department of Defense announced on October 3.

P-VPS Standard is a military version of the Nightforce ATACR 5-25×56 precision riflescope, while the long-range variant is a military version of the ATACR 7-35×56. P-VPS offers seamless magnification from 3x to 7x and a continuous zoom of 25x for USSOCOM.

S-VPS is a Nightforce ATACR 1-8x24 to military standards. With 1x magnification and daylight-visible reticle illumination, the riflescope can also be used as a red dot sight.
