The SHOT SHOW is not an event of big news, but this is one. With EOTech and its problems with its optics - we have reported - the competition in this area is catching up. Elite Defense presented the new Specter, the "Holographic Combat Optic" from Elcan for the first time at the show in Las Vegas. The data sound familiar: 1,200 hours of operating time with a horizontally placed CR123A battery, 12 daytime levels, three for night vision, aluminum housing, and a larger field of view than the competition. No problems were found even at extreme temperatures. The sighting can switch between a 72 MOA circle with a 1 MOA point or just a 1 MOA point.
Also seen at SHOT was the new Hartman MH1, which also aims to follow in the footsteps of EOTech and has some very exciting features including a mix of battery and USB charging capability. HERE our first report on it. We hope to be able to introduce this optic to you soon, as we are very excited about it. The field of view is larger than any other holo optics, and Hartman is taking a very unique approach to the sighting.
