New from UF PRO: Striker ULT combat pants

"We have developed the Striker ULT from scratch with the aim of maximizing the performance and comfort of those who wear it, regardless of whether they are deployed in a hot desert, tropical areas, or right here in temperate Europe," said Armin Wagner, Head of UF PRO Product Development.

"To achieve this goal, we use NyCo Extreme as the base material," Wagner continues. "NyCo Extreme is a ripstop fabric made from Polycotton that is 17 percent lighter than regular NyCo. It is three times more tear-resistant, has ten times more breathability, and dries 35 percent faster."

A unique feature of the Striker ULT combat pants is the new Waist/Flex System. According to Wagner, this system ensures that the pants always fit snugly on the wearer's body.

The Waist/Flex System - made from Schoeller-dynamic stretch inserts - includes an integrated underbelt (with space for medical patches). "The center part of the Waist/Flex System is plastic-reinforced, button-secured, and adjustable to prevent the underbelt from riding up, even when wearing a heavily loaded battle belt over it," explains Wagner.

Due to the air/pac® pads used in the buttocks area, the likelihood of the Striker ULT combat pants wrinkling or sliding down is practically zero.

"The pads adhere where the body bends, so the pants stay exactly where they belong when the wearer moves," said Wagner. "Without the pads, there would be a gap between the pants and the wearer's buttocks - and that gap would allow the pants to slip down."

Wagner points out that the Waist/Flex System not only makes a direct and significant contribution to the wearer's performance in the field but also increases overall comfort.

This comfort is also enhanced in another way, emphasizes Wagner. One of which is the strategically placed ventilation openings. "The NyCo Extreme fabric itself is already very breathable, but there will be moments when cool air should flow into the pants to better counteract heat," says the UF PRO Head of Development. "That's why we designed our Striker ULT combat pants with functional ventilation openings in the side pockets and on the shins."

A total of six side pockets are sewn into the pants. All are very spacious, allowing the wearer to carry substantial amounts of additional gear in the field.

"To prevent equipment in the pockets from shifting, each pocket is provided with a bungee cord at the top and additional elastic bands inside," reveals Wagner. "The pockets have a closable flap secured with Canadian Buttons. With each pair, we will include a straightforward kit to replace buttons with Velcro straps. Furthermore, the pockets have a vertical zipper, allowing quick and easy access to gear when kneeling or sitting in a vehicle."

Another important feature of the Striker ULT combat pants is the knee pockets. These contain UF PRO's battle-proven knee protection system, which allows wearers to protect their knees from impacts or sharp objects, emphasizes Armin Wagner.

The knee area of the pants is adjustable, he added. "In this way, wearers can adjust the pants to the shape of their body. In addition, the inside of the knees is lined with moisture-wicking 37.5™ technology material to wick away sweat."

The new Striker ULT combat pants also feature Boot Hooks. "The boot hooks are attached to the bottom of the legs of the pants," the chief developer knows. "When you connect the boot laces to these hooks, the pants always stay in place."

At the launch of the Striker ULT combat pants, customers will be able to choose between two colors - Brown Grey or MultiCam. The price of the pants is expected to be €239 per pair.
