Steel plates have an advantage, they are almost indefinitely durable and impact resistant. Ceramic plates need to be handled more gently, should be regularly checked, and have an expiration date. On the other hand, steel plates can be stored well and for a long time, their protective performance remains. The advantage is the price, they are significantly cheaper than ceramic plates.

A disadvantage of steel is the weight, they are heavier, but that makes them the perfect training plate. At just under 3 kg per piece, they give your training the perfect additional weight. So that the plate does not wear uncomfortably, it is bent widthwise and therefore fits better to the body. A special coating prevents splinters.
