The Düsseldorf-based technology group RHEINMETALL has been subcontracted through its divisions Weapon and Ammunition and Vehicle Systems Europe to deliver core components for 22 self-propelled howitzers to the German Army by KNDS Deutschland.
Rheinmetall is supplying for the PzH 2000 type self-propelled howitzers a total of 22 L52 caliber 155mm weapon systems and an equal number of chassis. After final system integration and commissioning at Rheinmetall in Unterlüß, the first of these artillery systems are expected to be delivered to the German Army in the summer of 2025. This contract represents a total order volume of around 135 million euros for Rheinmetall.
This contract underscores the German Army's continuing trust in the quality and reliability of the PzH 2000. The weapon system, developed in the 1980s and 90s and continuously upgraded since then, is known for its excellent mobility, long-range firepower, and protection.
