Modular Grab Pack 30 by TASMANIAN TIGER

More and more people are packing a so-called "Grab & Go Bag" or "Bug-Out-Bag" for emergencies (such as blackout, flooding, or evacuation) at home. A Grab Bag (also called emergency bag) is a packed backpack or bag with essential emergency equipment that is readily available in case of an emergency. The dimensions are 50 x 30 x 20 cm, the volume is 30 liters, and the weight is 2.33 kg. CORDURA fabrics are tear and abrasion-resistant, water-repellent, and extremely durable. Unlike many other models, TASMANIAN TIGER does not use MOLLE/PALS loops, which makes the backpack pleasantly unobtrusive.  

For the entire backpack, YKK zippers have been used, known worldwide for their flawless quality and reliability. The buckles and small parts of this backpack also come from Woojin Plastic and meet the highest quality standards.

Two flat insertion pockets with hook-and-loop fasteners for labeling are attached to the front. The two flat pockets differ in size. The upper pocket with the hook-and-loop fastener is 15 cm deep, while the underlying pocket is 20 cm. These flat front pockets with zippers are well-suited for storing documents or flat equipment.

Under the lid of the upper pocket, there are four loops made of webbing. Various compatible equipment bags can also be attached there with G-hooks or click-in buckles.

Daisy chains are attached to the sides of the pockets. At this point, there is the option to attach shock cord or a comparable material to mount additional equipment. 

At the bottom of the Modular Grab Pack 30, there are two rows of MOLLE/PALS loops. 

There are also two loops made of webbing here, suitable for hanging compatible equipment bags with G-hooks or click-in buckles.

On each side, there are two compression straps that are secured with snap hooks and click-in buckles, making them removable. The buckles are both male and female, providing flexible usability, which means they can be used for different purposes. 

"Grab and go" means "snatch and dash". The Modular Grab Pack 30 is equipped with a total of three carrying handles at the top and sides. All the handles are thick and have a textured surface.

At the top, there is a small loop that serves for hanging.

Comfortable carrying even when fully loaded? For this backpack, TASMANIAN TIGER uses the Y2-Plus carrying system. 

The Y2 carrying system is suitable for long and very short backs, even for petite individuals, due to its construction. It is height adjustable, can be combined with padded back, and has ergonomic shoulder straps and back padding as well as removable aluminum stays.

I immediately felt that this backpack was perfectly balanced when I put it on my back. Even with quick movements on uneven terrain, it did not slip or wobble because I had tightened the shoulder and hip straps securely. Thanks to the Y2-Plus carrying system, I could adjust it perfectly to my body.

The well-padded shoulder straps of the Modular Grab Pack 30 are designed to provide maximum comfort and do not become uncomfortable even with prolonged use. The chest strap primarily serves two functions: it ensures that the shoulder straps stay in the correct position and do not slip outward.

The shoulder straps, chest strap, and hip belt are fully removable, making the backpack ideal for storage in vehicles or as a readily accessible Ready-Pack, thus making it versatile.

The pleasantly large zipper pulls are easy to grasp even with thick gloves. They are made of paracord and are additionally equipped with shrink tubing.

The Modular Grab Pack 30 can be opened 180 degrees in the middle and unfolds like a shell. This reveals two compartments, each equipped with numerous Velcro closures.

The lid compartment is well organized. The compartments are made of transparent honeycomb material and can be used both horizontally and vertically, making them versatile.

The top compartment features an organization of elastic bands inside that ensures everything stays in its place.

For the front compartment, there are two large and two small organizing pouches included. These can be removed using Velcro. Each pouch is equipped with transparent honeycomb material and has a Velcro strip for labeling.

The second main compartment is equipped with large Velcro surfaces to which modular inner pockets, panels, or custom organization systems can be attached. This large, flat compartment with transparent honeycomb material is accessible from the side. Organizational modules can be attached to the Velcro strips, providing a flexible and adaptable solution for storing items.

The back is equipped with Velcro and has two MOLLE/PALS rows. These allow for the attachment of various modules.

For various hydration systems, there is a suspension that also includes an opening for the drinking tube.

Additionally, there are extra loops mounted on the sides that allow for individual adjustment of compression or organization using the included paracord and cord locks.

The removable aluminum rail is located in the back behind the suspension for the hydration bladder.

Behind the Velcro loop area, there is also a large, deep compartment. It is ideal for documents or other flat items.

The adjustable strap with buckle allows for temporarily closing the back compartment when the backpack is open and hanging.

The included, double-sided rain cover protects the backpack and its contents from the elements. The backside of the rain cover is bright orange to ensure safety and/or enable signaling.
