TT Modular Chest Rig 4xM4

At the ENFORCE TAC 26, TASMANIAN TIGER presented a new Chest Rig. It is designed for anyone who needs a versatile front platform and does not want to switch between multiple separate carrying systems. The TT Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 covers all of that: a classic Chest Rig, a plate-specific front panel, and a forward module for an extended rig/pack system.

TASMANIAN TIGER  uses the classic CORDURA for the Modular Chest Rig 4xM4, which is made from high-strength, air-textured nylon 6.6 in 500 Denier thread strength. Additionally, 420D nylon with TPU coating (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is used. This is a robust, waterproof, and weldable fabric primarily used for durable outdoor equipment. It is abrasion-resistant and cold-resistant. The Chest Rig has a total weight of 866 grams. The high standards of the Bundeswehr regarding IRR camouflage effect (IRR 650 – 1250 nm / 10 – 42 %) are met by both the CORDURA materials and the straps, Velcro fasteners, and buckles of the color variant "Stone Gray Olive IRR." 

The Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 is a carrying system that consists of a solid front panel onto which four M4 magazine pouches are securely sewn.

The four M4 magazine pouches are designed to be compatible with M4, AR15, G36, PMAG, and STG magazines. The magazines are secured with removable 3D polymer tabs and bungee cord. 

The magazine pouches are equipped with laser-cut MOLLE slots that allow for attaching additional equipment pouches, such as the Tourniquet III Pouch.

Two MOLLE-compatible multi-purpose pouches measuring 110 x 170 x 50 mm are standardly attached outside the magazine pouches – one on the left and one on the right. They can be removed if necessary. Both multi-purpose pouches are equipped with Velcro areas measuring 90 x 50 mm, where ID tags or patches can be attached. 

Upon closer inspection, one can see the direction in which the two multi-purpose pouches open. They do not open completely all around. One side opens only around the corner, while the other opens completely. When you need to be quick and know where to grab, this is advantageous, as no equipment is lost.

Each pouch contains a mesh pocket. The pouch is large enough to hold various items, such as a smoke grenade.

The removable, height-adjustable, and Velcro-attachable front flap with laser-cut MOLLE for an M-sized SAPI plate is designed for various operational configurations – from a minimal rig to a reinforced front panel to a plate-capable operational setup.

Here, the front flap is inserted with the protective plate and secured with Velcro. A strap inside prevents the ballistic protection from shifting during movement.

On the side of the front flap, there are rubber loops. These not only stabilize the protective plate inside but also allow for the routing of flat cables.

On the back of the Modular Chest Rig 4xM4, there is a padded, flat Velcro cover facing the body. It can be replaced with the flatter included back panel. 

This flattens the profile of the Chest Rig.

The entire front of the Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 can also be mounted on plate carriers. The Velcro back allows for use as a universal front module on compatible plate carriers, making it very versatile.

The empty compartment can be used as an admin or map pouch. Alternatively, Velcro-compatible gear or magazine pouches can also be attached inside.

The shoulder pads are very well padded in the upper area. The shoulder pads also have One Wrap type Velcro loops. These are used to organize and route cables, hydration tubes, antennas, and similar items.

The padding is secured with Velcro, making it adjustable and removable if necessary. 

The Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 comes with a carrying strap that can be adjusted in length and removed. This is done at the back. 

The straps are equipped with laser slots. This reduces weight on the one hand and facilitates a tight shooting position with a weapon on the other. The thin webbing provides space for the attachment of a microphone, a carabiner, etc.

The harness system of the Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 is designed as an H-harness, distributing the load very well. An adjustable and removable hip belt completes the carrying system.

All straps of the harness system of the Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 are equipped with WooJin buckles and are therefore removable. 

Another clear advantage is that all straps are neatly guided through rubber bands, preventing flapping and snagging.

In addition, there is a mounting option for the TT Plate Carrier Pouch VL and the TT IFAK Pouch Dual VL.

Application Possibilities

The Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 can be used in a minimal form as a pure magazine carrier. Lightweight, discreet, and mobile.

In combination with the front flap, which includes a ballistic protective plate, as well as additional gear bags that serve as robust protective equipment.

An extension as a placard that is mounted on plate carriers, using the included WJ buckles. These are hooked into the cummerbund on the side. The Velcro behind the magazine pouches holds it on the plate carrier. QASM buckles or G Hook secure the placard on the front of the plate carrier.

Alternatively, the entire Modular Chest Rig 4xM4 can be thrown over a plate carrier such as the LP LC Frame from TASMANIAN TIGER and fixed to the protective gear using the Velcro area behind the magazine pouches. 

As mentioned earlier, the shoulder pads can be removed. They connect the straps of the plate carrier and chest rig, providing more comfort and stability.
