TCCC & First Aid

With Hard Bandages (3): The Approach

Tactical first aid training in Germany typically follows either the MARCH or CABCDE algorithm. Both aim to provide urgent medical assistance in high-stress situations like terrorist attacks. Neutralizing threats is prioritized to create a safe environment for life-saving measures. The concept of TCCC is integrated into these algorithms for effective tactical survival.

Basically, it can be said that most of the tactical first aiders trained in Germany are taught one of the two following algorithms. If the training is more military-oriented, the MARCH algorithm is often used. In the police sector, the approach according to CABCDE is becoming more common. In principle, both variants are similar and pursue the same goal. The measures to be taken are almost identical.

As a deviation, the conveyance of an algorithm shortened to CABC sometimes occurs in practice, depending on the participants' background and the length of the training.

Both algorithms have in common that the most urgent initial measure in a terrorist attack or firefight is always to neutralize the opponents, let's now call them "enemy forces", "armed disturbers", or "terrorists". Only through the immediate combat against the armed counterpart, a safe working environment for further life-saving measures is created. The concept of TCCC takes this into account.Tactical Survival Concepts on the Internet: http://tacsurv.de
