This abstract discusses an image of a combat swimmer from the Jagdkommando of the Austrian Armed Forces emerging from water with a StG77. The image showcases the unique features of the weapon, including the optics being removed and the weapon appearing to be pushed into mud. The combat diver is also shown using a rebreather with a second AUG stock visible on his back.
A combat swimmer from the Jagdkommando of the Austrian Armed Forces emerges from the water, with the StG77 ready. What's fascinating about this image is not only that it shows a short-barreled version used by the Jagdkommando, but also that the optics have been removed. Furthermore, the weapon looks like it has been pushed into the mud. The ejection port for the casings is covered with tape, we do not know why. The combat diver has the mouthpiece of a rebreather in his mouth, likely a Dräger LAR V. On his back, you can see the stock of a second AUG. (Click on the image to enlarge)
