As a leading technology company in security and mobility, Rheinmetall sees it as its duty to provide those who protect our society with the best possible equipment. From November 21 to 24, 2017, Rheinmetall will present part of its extensive product portfolio for police and security forces at the international security fair MILIPOL in Paris.
The Survivor R is symbolic of the themes security and mobility. Developed in cooperation with the specialist vehicle manufacturer Achleitner, it is ideally suited as a protected special vehicle for police forces. The German state police forces of Berlin and Saxony have already ordered the Survivor R as equipment for their special forces.
The Survivor R is based on a powerful 4x4 truck chassis from MAN and a cabin made of armored steel. This high-mobility and over 100 km/h fast vehicle combines automotive mass production technology with state-of-the-art protection technology from Rheinmetall.
The armored monocoque cabin can be individually and discreetly adapted to changing threat situations with adaptive protection elements and comes standard with a protective ventilation system against nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare agents. Although excellently protected, the exterior appearance of the Survivor R is deliberately civilian and optically de-escalating for police operations. The interior is bright and ergonomically designed, providing enough space for a crew of up to eleven people with personal equipment as well as extensive radio and command equipment. Remote-controlled weapon stations can also be integrated into the versatile vehicle. For the first time at MILIPOL 2017, Rheinmetall is showcasing the Survivor R with the Qimek weapon station.
Rheinmetall offers an extensive range of pyrotechnic operational equipment. For access scenarios, the proven portfolio includes multi-bang grenades as well as improved flashbang grenades with Bottom-Top-Venting (BTV) technology. They are characterized by high ease of handling and precision in effect and reliability.
To be able to illuminate the operational environment at night, Rheinmetall has developed a wide range of signaling and area lighting products. Among them is the handheld rocket Mithras, available for ranges of 300, 600, and 1000 m with visible or infrared illumination.
40mm system family
As a leading manufacturer of ammunition and effect systems, Rheinmetall offers a portfolio tailored to many operational scenarios in 40mm x 46 caliber. This ranges from irritation ammunition to marking rounds to non-lethal impulse ammunition and highly effective special solutions for access techniques (Methods of Entry, MOE).
Rheinmetall also offers weapon concepts as a system house. These include the RS40, which can be used as an attachment or standalone launcher, and the Magazine Fed Grenade Launcher (MFGL), a magazine-fed grenade launcher with integrated hydraulic damping. In-house fire control sights make Rheinmetall a one-stop shop for 40mm effect systems
Rheinmetall has expanded its proven Laser Light Module family "VarioRay" with two additional modular components. The Laser module VarioRay LowProfile and the separate weapon lamp "Lumenator" with 500 lumens of brightness give the user even greater tactical flexibility - and all in extremely compact dimensions. The new products are key components to increase the tactical value of modern handheld weapon systems. Visitors to MILIPOL 2017 can also learn about the other members of the VarioRay family and the fire control sights MultiRay MR 500 and MR 800 at the Rheinmetall booth. The sniper attachment module TAC-Ray 1500 with integrated ballistics calculator is also on display.
Rheinmetall's product range VERHA (Versatile Rheinmetall Armour) is suitable for versatile applications - in the maritime sector, on land and air vehicles, and also as part of protective vests. Within the framework of several contracts, Rheinmetall has already delivered various types of protection systems to customers in both civil and military and police sectors. These included partial armor for ships, fiber composite protection components for premium-class armored limousines, hard ballistic inserts for protective vests, or quickly adaptable protective segments for armoring helicopter cockpits.
In addition, Rheinmetall has developed an innovative technology for the maintenance and inspection of hard ballistic vest inserts with the future-oriented technology Sensing Armour. The core of the technology is a sensor system integrated into the insert. This makes it quick and easy to detect damage even on externally intact inserts - without the need for elaborate X-ray examinations.
At MILIPOL, Rheinmetall also presents its rapid fog protection system ROSY. The rapid fog protection system ROSY provides protection against unexpected attacks. In contrast to conventional fog protection systems, it can create dynamic fog walls in addition to spontaneous, large-area, and multispectral line-of-sight interruption, thus providing long-lasting protection for moving objects.
ROSY is available in various applications. The modular variant ROSY_Mod is suitable for small weapon stations and small vehicles, such as those used by special forces. ROSY_Mod can be integrated directly into the vehicle - without a launcher - and thus not visible.
In times of digital vulnerability, innovative solutions are needed - for example, by camouflage of attack targets and deception of attackers. In order to be able to defend the national cyber space, comprehensive knowledge of its structure, extent, and above all its vulnerability is needed.
Rheinmetall presents some of its solutions in the field of cyber security at MILIPOL: The Cyber Network Security Solution - cyel equilibrium operates on the principle of Moving Target Security. The cyber radar "cyobs" for cyber vulnerability analysis measures, analyzes, and visualizes the cyber vulnerability of a state.
