Michael, the hero of the SHOT SHOW

It can get serious very quickly. On Thursday evening, January 22, 2026, a severe knife attack occurred at the SHOT SHOW in Las Vegas, where Michael Paa was able to save a person's life through quick intervention. Thank you, Michael!

What happened? At around 6:30 PM, Michael was in the transition area between the exhibition hall and the restaurant row in the Venetian Hotel when he witnessed a violent confrontation. After a physical altercation, one of the participants repeatedly stabbed the victim with a knife. As a result, the man was severely injured on his forearm, leading to massive and life-threatening bleeding.

The perpetrator was immediately overwhelmed and restrained by bystanders. Since Michael was nearby, he was able to provide first aid without delay. By manually applying pressure to the heavily bleeding wound and subsequently applying a tourniquet, he managed to control the bleeding until emergency services arrived and took over further care.

An appropriate first aid kit was quickly provided to him on-site by employees of the companies ARFCOM and NOVOX. The tourniquet used comes from NORTH AMERICAN RESCUE. The day after, his intervention at the booth of NORTH AMERICAN RESCUE was acknowledged with the presentation of a coin as recognition.
