There they are, the good old things. And if you tinker a bit and turn it further, sometimes quite amazing things come out. Some are working on replacing the MG42/MG3 (H&K offers a solution that is reminiscent of the duo MK46 and MK48 from FN Herstal), others are focusing on modernization. For Rheinmetall, the Tactics Group has turned the screw of time on the German MG classic and this is what came out:
The connoisseur immediately recognizes that Mil-Std 1913 rails have now arrived at the MG3. Everything can now be attached to the left side of the weapon, at the front, top, and on the housing cover, that God or man has made for rails. With an Optics Supplement, the sighting is significantly modernized. In the picture is a Short-Dot from Steiner. The machine gun now also has a center-position handle to make it easier to carry in the storm. The new, modular shoulder stock also looks interesting, which can be adapted to the shooter's needs. The safety mechanism has also been renewed.
And because not only the MGs can come pre-dyed from another house (keyword HK121), Rheinmetall's new MG3 also comes in a mission-oriented color. The new, special carrying strap for the future MG3 comes from Zentauron.
View from the right: the MG3 has remained almost the same. Note the Zentauron carrying strap and the height adjustment between the new shoulder stock and the ground. In the front left there is a laser aiming device and a view over the Short Dot from Steiner. At Enforce Tac 2013, the revamped MG3 was already seen. The classic now looks like it could play on the side of the Kerberos Panzer Cops in the Japanese manga JIN ROH...
