MARSOC on the rise

There is a rumor that the (second, alongside Recon) special unit of the US Marine Corps could significantly expand in the coming years. In an interview, Lt. Gen. Dennis Hejlik (Commandant of the Marines on the East Coast) noted that he sees it as possible for MARSOC to increase in size from the current approximately 1,000 men to up to 5,000 men, which would then be comparable in size to the SEALs in the US Navy.
