The US Armed Forces have once again awarded Rheinmetall multimillion-dollar contracts for the delivery of ammunition. The U.S. Marine Corps has ordered day/night practice grenades in the caliber 40mm x 46 worth around 3 million USD (2.5 million EUR). The cartridges do not contain any environmentally harmful substances and are manufactured at American Rheinmetall Munitions, Inc. (ARM) in Camden, Arkansas. ARM is a subsidiary of the Düsseldorf-based defense technology company Rheinmetall Defence. The delivery began in December 2017.

On the other hand, the U.S. Navy is procuring the latest flash bang grenades as part of a new contract worth 3.8 million USD (3.2 million EUR), now classified by the U.S. government as MK 24 MOD 0. The delivery will take place in 2018 through ARM, with the non-lethal special effects materials being manufactured at the German location of Trittau.

Rheinmetall is one of the world's leading providers in both 40mm weapon systems and special mission equipment. In both areas, the company covers the entire spectrum and supplies components and systems to armed and security forces worldwide. In addition to 40mm Low Velocity and High Velocity ammunition, Rheinmetall is advancing the development of the promising 40 mm Medium Velocity family. Furthermore, the leading defense technology company also offers suitable weapon systems and fire control technology for 40mm ammunition.
