The TitanX from MANTIS is an innovative training device designed for handgun training, mimicking the Glock 17. It features a built-in laser and supports dry-fire training. Suitable for both beginners and advanced users, it integrates with MANTIS apps for comprehensive training experiences, enhancing learning without live fire.
TitanX is the name of the new training device from MANTIS, which we are already well acquainted with through the MantisX system and the Laser Academy. What can the device do and who is it suitable for? These questions are being examined by KL STRATEGIC today.

The Titan X is a true challenge to all training weapons, as it offers a combination of various options for home training as well as for use in training and education. While the TitanX is already available in the USA, the device will enter the European market later this year and is currently available for pre-order at a price of €349. This alone is a challenge to competitors, who typically retail for over €600.

The Titan X from MANTIS is a training device for handgun training. It comes in the form of the Glock 17 with a built-in red laser and the MantisX 10 system. The high-quality soft case contains the following items:
- TitanX training device
- 2 magazine dummies
- Charging cable
- Adjustment key
- User manual
No more is needed, as in conjunction with the free MANTIS apps (MantisX pistol/revolver and MANTIS Laser Academy), it offers a comprehensive overall concept for effective handgun training.

The laser and the MantisX 10 system are powered by a shared built-in battery that can be charged via a USB-C interface. The MantisX 10 system is turned on and off using the only control button on the top. The red laser can also be set to continuous operation for adjustment purposes.

By itself, the TitanX is a comprehensive training device for dry-fire training.
In addition to a really good reset-trigger that reliably activates the laser, it offers the possibility of magazine changes in conjunction with a realistic weapon weight. The open sighting is also very usable. A special feature is that the device is already optic-ready, meaning that red dot sights of all kinds can be mounted, making it even better suited for adaptation to one’s own live firearm.

Thanks to the two adjustment screws on the laser, located on the sides near the muzzle, the laser can be optimally adapted to the respective needs and mounted optics.

The dimensions of the Glock are accurately maintained, allowing the training device to be used with holsters and attachments. This makes it particularly suitable for comprehensive training and education.

Home training can be done just like with any other laser weapon or a drop-in laser cartridge. Hang up the target and work through the drills. The TitanX is well-suited for this due to its robust plastic body.

Things get interesting when you incorporate the app features from Mantis. The full compatibility with Mantis's Laser Academy is intentional, as it develops the full potential of home training and makes the TitanX system an excellent practice device for beginners. The combination of laser, MantisX analysis, and guided training leaves almost nothing to be desired.
It is, of course, also usable with other systems, such as the smokeless range from Laser Ammo. Here, there is virtually an endless portfolio of training and educational opportunities available apart from live fire.
Despite all the advantages, the TitanX system is certainly not the ultimate solution. One can clearly see the primary goal of Mantis's developers to create a product for their own systems while working as cost-effectively as possible. For example, a movable slide would be desirable, which is naturally difficult to implement with the built-in technology. Additionally, a sensor that simulates the status of the dummy magazine and possibly prevents the laser from firing when the magazine is empty would be nice, allowing for magazine changes and reloading as optional training opportunities. This can currently only be realized in the context of the shot count specification of the respective drills in the apps.
I personally have high hopes that the TitanX will also be available in forms other than the Glock 17 in the future.
In the law enforcement sector, especially in the police sector, I see the TitanX as a clear successor to the SIRT weapons, as it offers the opportunity to train trainees effectively in a short time and to utilize live fire time much more efficiently.
The TitanX system is suitable for all users who want to effectively expand the possibilities of dry-fire training. Both beginners and advanced users will find an excellent system here that offers many options for structuring training and, through compatibility with all available laser training systems on the market, provides a wide range at an absolutely amazing price.
The system is very well suited, from my personal perspective, but also very good for trainers in training. Here, the Titan X can provide a safe alternative for presenting and teaching details, as it allows trainees to observe the activities closely and learn the intricacies without risk. Of course, this is also possible with all other laser weapons (SIRT, LaserAmmo, etc.). But especially the combination of the weapon with the apps offers the option to make quick, safe progress without having to use valuable shooting time on the range. Here, the live shot and the review of what has been learned can take center stage.
As an experienced shooting instructor and trainer, the TitanX offers a significant advancement in cost-effective dry training, with the option extending to laser shooting cinema with scenario training for deployment forces. Particularly, the compatibility with the app-based training opportunities from Mantis provides a substantial advantage over previous systems.
For me personally, the aspect of integration into all market-available systems creates a special appeal, as this opens up entirely new options for training.
A laser pistol as a training device is absolutely nothing new, but the details can ultimately make the difference, and with a little enthusiasm and imagination in training design, the system offers a multitude of possibilities to make dry training not only interesting and varied but also significantly increase its effectiveness.
Moreover, the quality and price pose a clear challenge to other major manufacturers, who are now forced to react or lose significant market shares.
In brief: TitanX is a clear recommendation for anyone who takes their training seriously and wants to expand it meaningfully.
At this point, thanks to 1MOA GmbH, which provided me with the TitanX 700 for testing.
The system can currently be pre-ordered in Germany, with the market launch expected in late spring 2026.
