The CARINTHIA Loftshell Climate Jacket is part of the new Loftshell range. The basic idea behind it? A highly flexible outer material combined with a high-quality inner lining made of merino wool knit – that is the Loftshell Climate Technology. The G-LOFT Climate Lining is the heart of it all, providing optimal moisture transport. During the testing phase, the Loftshell Climate was evaluated for its functionality in various terrains and climatic conditions.

The Loftshell Climate Jacket is made of G-LOFT, 100% polyester, and polyamide. The inner material consists of 50% high-quality merino wool and 50% polyamide.

The jacket comes in a bag, including a compression sack. It weighs 1,067 grams in size XL and has dimensions of 300 x 140 x 150 mm when compressed.

Our tester is 183 cm tall and weighs 88 kg. He chose size XL. The Loftshell Climate Jacket features a close-fitting, ergonomic cut. The fit of the Loftshell Climate is overall normal. Thanks to the stretch material, the cut is designed for high freedom of movement.

The elastic polyamide fabric actively adapts to movement and also serves as a barrier against wind while remaining breathable. The jacket is equipped with a factory waterproofing that reliably protects against light showers. A special feature of the material is that it hardly makes any noise, making it ideal for activities where silence is required.

The Loftshell Climate Jacket features a snug-fitting lining made of 50% polyamide and 50% merino wool. The polyamide enhances workability and durability, while merino wool is known for its proven climate regulation and odor-resistant properties. Moisture is transferred to the comfort filling through the breathable fabric.

The Loftshell Climate Jacket impresses with its four zippered pockets. The two mandatory side pockets provide space to warm hands or store other items.

On their inner side, there is the end of the drawstring, which allows for adjustment of the jacket's hem.

With the internal cord stopper, the width of the hem can be adjusted. The bungee cord is neatly integrated into the jacket's hem.

The Napoleon pocket is located on the left side next to the main zipper at chest height of the Loftshell Climate Jacket.

It allows quick access to small items such as mobile phones, wallets, notebooks, black books, etc., and is ideal for backpack users since it does not disappear under the straps.

Additional storage is provided by two internal elastic mesh pockets with rounded openings that ensure that carried items stay in place.

The sleeves feature soft, elastic cuffs.

The front of the Loftshell Climate Jacket is equipped with a sturdy zipper that features a long pull tab. This makes it easier to open and close with cold fingers and thick gloves.

The Loftshell Climate Jacket features only one upper arm pocket on the left sleeve. It is large enough to hold a tourniquet, a bandage, and gauze. Both sleeves have large Velcro areas where patches and identification badges can be attached. The CARINTHIA patches are included in the delivery.

The hood on a jacket protects against the elements by insulating the head and neck. The inner material of the Climate Loftshell jacket is made of 50% high-quality merino wool and 50% polyamide, providing warmth and protecting the neck area from the cold.

The hood features several adjustment options that allow it to be customized to fit the shape and size of the head.

On the back, there is an elastic band that enables tightening the hood around the head, allowing it to adapt to head movements.

Additionally, there are the usual elastic drawstrings. This allows the opening to be adjusted. Furthermore, it can be secured with cord stoppers. Overall, the hood can be adjusted according to need.

However, it is attached to the outer side of the collar and cannot be rolled up or stored away.
The CARINTHIA Loftshell Climate jacket sets new standards in outdoor clothing. The jacket was worn over several weeks in snow, strong winds, sleet showers, rain, and temperatures ranging from minus 4 to plus 10 degrees. The outer material is highly flexible, while the lining is high-quality merino wool. The G-LOFT Climate Lining is ultralight, provides moisture transport, and keeps you pleasantly dry and warm. It is water- and wind-resistant, quiet, breathable, and has a hood.

If you are looking for a breathable and warm shell jacket for the colder months in spring and autumn, you will appreciate the CARINTHIA Loftshell Climate. It is comfortable and practical. The combination of technical materials and merino wool represents a clever evolution of the CARINTHIA product portfolio, and the quality of the jacket speaks for itself. The olive color makes the Loftshell Climate jacket stand out in nature. For those who stay mainly in the city, the black jacket is the perfect choice.
The material composition of quiet, breathable 4-way stretch outer material, G-LOFT insulation, and comfortable inner material made of merino wool, along with active moisture transport to the outside, are clear advantages over classic, less breathable softshells.
The Loftshell Climate jacket from CARINTHIA is available in sizes S to XXL and retails for a price of 389 EUR. It is available in black and olive green. Purchase is possible directly from CARINTHIA in the shop or at retailers such as STEINADLER that carry the brand. The price is 389 EUR.
