The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense has decided to continue procuring G36 assault rifles from Heckler and Koch after conducting their own trials under combat conditions. Tests showed that the rifle only deviates from required specifications when used for fire support, not as an assault rifle.
There are still signs and wonders happening: The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense has decided to continue procuring the G36 assault rifles from Heckler and Koch. We remember: in Germany there was the debate that this weapon must be replaced. The Lithuanians conducted their own trials under combat conditions and exchanged information with other NATO members, including Germany. And behold: "Tests in the Lithuanian armed forces showed that the assault rifle only deviates from the required technical specifications when used for fire support - like a light machine gun - and not as an assault rifle," reports the magazine European Security and Technology.
