The Czech Republic plans to acquire a total of 76 Leopard 2A8 tanks and additional support vehicles, increasing their armored fleet to 100 main battle tanks and 20 support tanks by 2030. The delivery of the tanks is scheduled to be completed by 2025.
In the last session of the Defense Committee of the House of Representatives, it was confirmed that the Czech Republic wants to purchase a total of 76 Leopard 2A8 (including support versions) and acquire another 28 Leopard 2A4 and 2 Buffel ARV. Half of them will be paid for, the other half will be gifted. This will allow the Czech Armed Forces to have a total of 100 main battle tanks and 20 support tanks by 2030. In addition, there will be 30 T-72M4CZ, which will remain in reserve along with more support tanks. By 2025, all 2A4 tanks should be delivered. The delivery of the 2A8 is planned for 2027-2030.
