The Swedish Armed Forces will in the future conduct their LEOPARD 2 training on high-tech simulators of the latest generation from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG (KNDS). The contract concluded between the Swedish Procurement Agency (FMV) and KNDS provides for the delivery of a total of 18 high-fidelity simulators.
The combination of turret and driving simulators allows training in company strength at the Land Warfare Center in Skövde, as well as in platoon strength and at the vehicle level at three other locations in Sweden.
With the use of state-of-the-art software and hardware, the training systems include, among other things, a fully functional integration of the loader's station using a weapon simulator and an "Over-the-Hatch" visual system solution for the commander. Another component is the integration of the Swedish C2 Mark command system.
