General Dynamics European Land Systems confirms that the company has signed a contract with a Southeast Asian country for the production and delivery of the most advanced version of the amphibious bridge and ferry system M3. This order also includes integrated logistic support, consisting of a simulator system, training, special tools, and operator aids.

Several NATO members and other user states use the M3 system for various tasks, from military operations to disaster relief. The amphibious bridge and ferry system M3 has a payload capacity for tracked vehicles up to MLC85 and for wheeled vehicles up to MLC 132, and can install a 100-meter-long floating bridge in less than 10 minutes.

During the NATO exercise "Anakonda" in June 2016, German and British troops worked together to build a 350-meter-long floating bridge using their M3 systems. During this exercise, Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, Commander of the U.S. Army in Europe, was quoted by Defense News as saying: "This is the best bridge I have ever seen. Here we are experiencing a remarkable example of real interoperability and allied forces being able to provide capabilities that all other forces need."

German Brigadier General Markus Laubenthal, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army in Europe, observed the NATO exercise in Chelmno, where the longest floating bridge ever built from M3 systems allowed the crossing of the Vistula River. On the way back from Chelmno to Warsaw, he expressed his enthusiasm to Defense News about the unique capabilities of NATO members Germany and Great Britain: "The M3 system is significantly different from conventional military bridges, as it can also be used as a ferry. This allows for very rapid river crossings."About General Dynamics European Land Systems
