LAND FORCES 2022: Rheinmetall downunder

Rheinmetall Defence Australia showcased a variety of new combat systems at LAND FORCES 2022, including integrated soldier systems, C2 networks, combat logistics, autonomy with robotic vehicles, and combat capabilities on wheels and tracks.

Rheinmetall Defence Australia was the largest exhibitor at LAND FORCES 2022. The company was able to showcase a wide range of new systems, including technologies for dismounted combat through integrated soldier systems; C2 networks that enhance collaboration between mounted and dismounted soldiers; combat logistics with the HX truck and an automatic load handling system (ALHS); autonomy with robotic vehicles; and combat capabilities on wheels and tracks with the Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle and the Lynx Infantry Fighting Vehicle.

The Rheinmetall Boxer Reconnaissance Vehicle was seen with a remote-controlled concept demonstrator for a remote-controlled turret, a concept developed in Australia that offers the possibility to operate the existing turret in new configurations.

The Lynx is still waiting to win during the procurement phase LAND 400 Phase 3. Australians had previously stated their intention to reduce the number of IFVs to be procured from 450 to 300.
