Lambrecht lets go - Explanation of the Federal Minister

From Mrs. Lambrecht today comes this press release, just out of the German Ministry of Defense: "Today I asked the Chancellor to be relieved from the position of Minister of Defense. The months-long media focus on myself hardly allows for a factual reporting and discussion of the soldiers, the Bundeswehr, and security policy decisions in the interest of the citizens of Germany. The valuable work of the soldiers and the many motivated people in the department must be the focus. I have therefore decided to make my position available. I thank all those who work every day for our security and wish them all the best for the future."
