Not very common to see but appreciated by special forces: a member of the Special Forces Command (KSK) is shown here with his G8 - a light machine gun from the workshop of Heckler & Koch. The HK 21 was built starting in 1961. The weapon was offered in calibers 7.62 NATO, 5.56 NATO, and 7.62 (M43) and is easily convertible from one caliber to another. The Bundeswehr uses the HK21 as the G8 in small numbers with the KSK and the SEKM, the combat swimmers.
