Knowhow: EOTech lead marks

With the hold point, the deviation from the actual target is corrected when shooting. This deviation is caused by various factors such as weather influences, dispersion, wind, or misalignment of the weapon and sighting device.

The hold point is an imaginary point on which the shooter's eye looks through the sighting device to hit the actual target. The sighting devices used are rear sight and front sight, a telescopic sight, or for example a thermal imaging device or a red dot sight (such as EOTech Holosight).
