The NEXTOOL Knight K30, a Halloween limited edition multifunctional knife, features a one-handed opening blade, crossbar lock, and eleven additional tools. Its solid build quality, comfortable G10 scales, and reliable locking mechanisms make it an impressive EDC choice, combining functionality with premium materials.
"Trick or Treat" is the phrase associated with Halloween. In line with this theme, NEXTOOL has released a Halloween limited edition of its Knight K30 in two colors. The NEXTOOL Knight K30 is a fantastic concept for a multifunctional knife. It features a large, one-handed opening blade with a thumb button and crossbar lock. Additionally, it offers a variety of other tools.

The NEXTOOL Knight K30 was delivered in a simple, informative packaging. It was described as an "urban, lightweight EDC multifunctional knife" – a somewhat interesting designation that raised expectations well. Inside the packaging, there was a desiccant packet and a small user manual.

The knife has a closed length of 91 mm, a width of 21 mm, and a height of 21 mm. The knife, with a total of eleven additional tools, weighs 114 grams. Don't worry, you are not seeing double; we are just presenting both new color variants side by side. Functionally, both are identical.

As expected from NEXTOOL, the build quality impressed at first sight. The G10 scales felt solid and grippy, and the overall fit and finish conveyed a high level of care, which stands out particularly positively in this price range.

The pocket clip for deep pocket carry had good tension – although not reversible – which is completely sufficient for most carrying situations.

The star of the show, at least regarding the locking mechanism, was the crossbar lock – essentially an axis lock – which secured both the main blade and other tools with impressive reliability.

The blade measures 70 mm in length and 2 mm in width and features a drop-point profile with a precisely shaped tip. The blade opening mechanism worked smoothly via both the thumb button and the axis lock itself. The motion had a pleasant, slightly springy character, making opening and closing a true pleasure. The blade steel is Sandvik 14C28N, a Swedish steel increasingly used in high-quality knives. It is not as hard as D2 but surpasses this steel in terms of corrosion resistance and toughness.

The tools utilize the stainless knife steel 5Cr15MoV, produced in China. It is commonly used in inexpensive kitchen knives, pocket knives, and simple utility knives. The steel is designed for easy maintenance, good corrosion resistance, and straightforward sharpening.

The bottle opener is a locking tool that features the same axis lock system as the main blade. An interesting design choice that provided order and safety during use.

The bit screwdriver comes with a Phillips and a 3.5 mm flat bit. These are magnetic and held securely in place. Like the bottle opener, it is also lockable, enhancing safety when applying torque.

On the opposite side of the bit holder is a small, triangular file with a cross cut on one side and a single cut on the other. This is complemented by an edge file. Although it is not long, it is more than sufficient for nail care and filing light metals. This file was not lockable, but considering its intended use, this was not a disqualifying factor. At the end is a lever that also served as a large flat screwdriver. Simple and useful – exactly the kind of tool that deserves its place.

The awl is extremely sharp, double-ground on both sides, and features a threading hole – meaning it could be used for simple emergency stitching outdoors if necessary. Not razor-sharp, but functional for its purpose.

Well hidden and yet a small but welcome extra.

The tweezers featured an angled tip with solid precision – well suited for handling splinters, stray hairs, or other small tricky tasks.

The scissor system from NEXTOOL is one of the standout features of their entire product range, and high expectations were placed on the NexScissors 2.0 presented here. It was a full-sized scissor with a serrated blade – exactly the kind of cutting tool that gives a multitool the feel of being truly powerful, rather than having to make compromises. The material used is the proven martensitic stainless steel 1.4116 made in Germany, which is particularly widespread in the production of kitchen knives. It impresses with its high corrosion resistance, good toughness, and very easy sharpenability.
The NEXTOOL Knight K30 is a truly convincing EDC multifunctional knife. The concept is strong: a large, one-handed deployable blade with a crossbar locking mechanism, a full-sized scissor, and a solid selection of other tools – all in a package that can compete in size and haptics with a specialist knife. The quality of workmanship and the materials used reinforced the premium positioning, and the choice of Sandvik 14C28N steel for the blade was wise. For anyone who doesn't always need pliers, the K30 is a remarkably versatile alternative.
The Knight K30 from NEXTOOL in the Halloween special edition in the colors Orange and Purple can be found here in the store or here at the dealer for 46 euros. The black standard version is available for 41 euros.
