Spectre Miniatures: Small war on the table

05/26/2015By Redaktion

Tabletop Games are games where you can build quite complex gameplay with figures and measuring tape. There are also some war games and simulations here. Spectre Miniatures is a new manufacturer for Tabletop Wargaming. The special thing: they specialize in ultra-modern, very detailed and precise miniatures and in a realistic, very fast tactical gameplay.

Perhaps this is due to the owners: one of them is a veteran. And one of the consultants in game development brings 18 years of experience in combat units. He has been active in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia and has also worked as a Private Military Contractor (PMC) for a period of time.

Some call "Spectre" the "Call of Duty of Tabletops". It brings military speed to the gaming table and yet differs from other games of this kind because it places great emphasis on tactics, processes, and realism. It starts with the very cool game figures: Spectre tries to produce the best possible figures, whose equipment is as consistent as it fits the current operational areas in the world. Initially, the focus was on Central- and West Africa as the area of operation, but the Middle East and North Africa have long been added. Where regular western and special forces operating globally are deployed. The turn-based game is very dynamic and full of surprises. The progression is brutal and realistic, forcing players to rely on the skills of their team, to deal with tactics, terrain, and cover options. Tactics such as fire and movement or the application of group formations have an impact in the game...

In the game, the player can act as both "Elite" Special Operations Forces, as "Professional" (regular armies), or as "Militia" - poorly trained soldiers or paramilitary forces, or in a mix of all these elements. For example, the player may have poorly trained indigenous forces supported by SF forces that can call for air support. The game has received significant input from both the gaming community and military advisors, so that realism, fast gameplay, and fun ultimately balance each other well.

Spectre now has many more miniatures on the market. The rulebook is available, they are called SPECTRE: OPERATIONS and can be found HERE.
