Combat Vehicles

No more Land Cruisers for the bad guys.

08/09/2021By Redaktion

At least from the new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series. Reservations from dealers for the Toyota Land Cruiser 2022 overseas have allegedly been on hold since July 1, as reported by Japanese Magazine X. The magazine reports that Toyota dealers are asking Land Cruiser customers to sign a written "commitment" that they will not immediately resell or export their vehicles.

If there is suspicion that the customer has done both or their identity cannot be verified, Toyota will cancel the order. The car manufacturer apparently wants nothing to do with activities that could allegedly violate the Japanese Foreign Exchange Law.

This is a fear that the new Toyotas might end up in various crisis areas. We have published an informative article about the "Toyota Horde" HERE. Even in regular armies in crisis areas in the Middle East and elsewhere, Toyota SUVs are extremely popular, whether it's Russia or the USA.

We doubt that this action by Toyota will be successful, as countless vehicles are already present in these areas and they are usually not the newest models. And the excellent Toyotas can be found on all sides of the conflicts - in various, improvised configurations. Even regular armies are following suit.

By the way: It is little known that Toyota even had its own war. The "Ḥarb Tūyūtā", the Toyota War, was fought as early as 1987 between Libya and Chad. Its name comes from the Land Cruisers and Hilux trucks that defined it. However, the most unforgettable Toyota images are the assault convoys of the Islamic State, equipped with brand-new Toyotas as combat vehicles.
