SABATTI presented the new ROVER family at IWA 2022, a completely redesigned series of bolt-action rifles for hunting, sports shooting, and professional use. The new Sabatti Rover rifle family continues the high quality, high precision, and decades of experience of the globally respected classic Sabatti Rover bolt-action rifle design, improving it with a newly designed system and bolt, new materials, a higher level of CNC quality, and a wide range of configurations.
Depending on the model, the new Sabatti Rover rifles are available in different calibers (10+ to start), barrel lengths and profiles, with or without muzzle brake or silencer, with standard or match triggers (which are interchangeable anyway), with standard or AICS-compatible detachable magazines, with stocks made of different materials or with different finishes, available with adjustable cheek and butt plate.
The new SABATTI Rover bolt is a completely new design made from a solid block of Ergal 55 and precision machined to minimize manufacturing tolerances and then hard anodized. The receiver features an integrated Picatinny rail that allows the mounting of scopes or other sighting devices.
The new SABATTI Rover bolt is CNC-milled from a single piece of steel and is available in chrome-plated or matte black finish, depending on the model. The quality of this new three-lug bolt with a 60° opening angle, the new robust extractor, and the detachable knob make the new SABATTI Rover system one of the best on the market.
The cold-forged barrel features traditional lands and grooves that have emerged from an improved manufacturing process, providing the precision for which SABATTI rifles are known. Of particular note is that the barrel is equipped with an extension that allows for easy barrel replacement without the need for headspace adjustment.
An M-Lok multipurpose steel plate is embedded in the forend of the stock, allowing the mounting of bipods or other accessories.
Personally, we are very impressed by the two variants Rover Patrol and Rover Scout, as they come very close to Jeff Cooper's Scoutrifle concept with their Iron Sights.
Price-wise, the new Rover series from SABATTI starts at 930 Euros and ends at just over 1,500 Euros. So very wallet-friendly. The new Rover family should be available soon through your local gun dealer.
