ISIS: tanks instead of trucks

12/22/2016By Redaktion

In Germany, ISIS uses trucks, as seen in Berlin. In the Syrian region of the Islamic State, German tanks may even come into play, if they manage to do so technically. As Daesh exults with a press release (see below), the "soldiers of the caliphate" have managed to capture two Leopard 2A4 tanks. This shows that Daesh does not want to destroy everything, as recently two Leopards were shot down with anti-tank missiles. But capturing is also possible. The German tanks originally belong to a contingent of 298 Leopards purchased by the Turkish army. None of them were passed on to a militia fighting in Syria, which means that Turkish military Leos were captured in the tough battles around Al-Bab.
