The recent devastating attack at Kabul airport left 12 Marines and a Corpsman dead, with many Afghan casualties. The Taliban disavowed the attack while US President Biden promised retaliation against the Islamic State.
12 dead Marines and one dead Corpsman, that is the toll of yesterday's attack at Kabul airport, the suicide bomber also likely took with him 60 Afghans, but the number of victims is still rising. In the evening, there were several explosions in Kabul. It is unclear whether the Islamic State will continue to use the remaining days of the evacuation for terrorist acts.
The Taliban, who apparently also "cooperated" with the USA at the airport, distance themselves from the attack. US President Biden vowed revenge against the IS. It is the biggest single loss for the USA since the shooting down of Extortion 17 in Afghanistan.

In a video to the IS press agency, the Kabul bomber is introduced. This is the traditional way the Islamic State ensures that "its" attackers are recognized as such.
