INTERVIEW: Zen-Warrior is appealing

07/19/2021By Redaktion

Each of you can be one, a ZEN-WARRIOR, because ZEN-WARRIOR is attractive. We talked to the creators of the new clothing line and show you the current shirts from the ZEN-WARRIOR collection:

SPARTANAT: Who is the Zen-Warrior?

ZEN-WARRIOR: The Zen-Warrior lives in constant duality of warriorhood and spiritual wisdom seeking. He has internalized "The Art of War" by Master Sun Tsu as well as the underlying teachings of the "Tao Te King" by the legendary philosopher Lao-Tse.

SPARTANAT: What does Zen-Warrior mean?

ZEN-WARRIOR: Zen stands for presence in the present moment and complete focus on the here and now. The central practice is meditation to achieve a state of calmness from which strength and sharpening of the senses arise. Zen originally emerged from Buddhism and was also strongly influenced by Daoism, but at its core, it has nothing to do with religion.

Zen always strives for perfection and directs full attention to the present moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing else exists in this moment concurrently. The Zen-Warrior has learned this as a warrior in battle from his master and then incorporated the philosophy of Zen into his daily actions. The well-known Hollywood blockbuster "Last Samurai" vividly depicted how a true warrior fights without thinking, because years of training have ingrained all movements into his muscle memory. He anticipates the movements of the enemy in advance.

If I may quote Master Sun Tsu here: "According to the art of war, the master warrior is someone who knows the psychology and mechanisms of conflict so precisely that he immediately sees through every step of the opponent and is able to act in exact accordance with the situation. He uses the Zen arts to achieve deep calmness, to prepare his mind to be constantly aware of impending death, but also to develop that sensitivity that allows him to respond to situations without needing to pause for reflection."

SPARTANAT: So the difference to other tactical-themed T-shirt brands lies in the messages that these motifs convey?

ZEN-WARRIOR: We are most familiar with the motifs and brands from the American market. They drip with patriotism and violent statements. Additionally, they are very focused on specific units. But here it's about the true, honorable warrior. We not only see ourselves as honorable warriors, but of course, we also know many comrades who serve in various units around the world, and one thing unites them all; Each sees themselves as honorable and fighting for the good, but that alone is not enough to be an honorable warrior. It has always been considered honorable to have a high moral code, but this code must be lived in both battle and in every other moment of existence.

But do you have other designs in your collection?

ZEN-WARRIOR: Yes, we also have tactical designs with a sense of humor, which follow a different line and are graphically structured in a different way. Fun should also not be neglected in life, which is not a contradiction. On the other hand, Zen-Warrior designs are noble and clearly to the point, entirely in the spirit of Zen and for customers who identify with this clarity. The exclusive collection ZEN-WARRIOR with powerful messages on the chest stands for all those who feel the honorable spirit of the warrior within them and want to make a clear statement.
