ILA Berlin 24: HERO is waiting for you

The cooperation partners RHEINMETALL and UVISION present at booth Dis G / 006 at ILA Berlin Hero-Loitering-Munitions-Systems in various sizes and for different missions, including corresponding launchers. The systems combine the characteristics of drones and guided missiles. Loitering Munition (LM) enhances the ability of infantry units to gather information on targets over a large distance in a target area. These targets can then be engaged promptly, but at a self-determined time, with long-range precision.

Hero LM is a family of field-proven, widely deployed effectors. It is manufactured and distributed in Europe as part of a cooperation between the Israeli UVision Air Ltd. and Rheinmetall. The two companies agreed on a strategic partnership in October 2021.

A Hero system circles above the target area, locates and tracks the enemy, analyzes potential targets, assists in selecting high-value targets as well as appropriate timing, direction of attack, and angle of attack. Finally, upon operator's command, it executes a precision strike. The Hero system can also abort an attack in mid-air, return to flight mode, and then resume the attack or reassign targets. This provides operational forces on the modern battlefield with high tactical flexibility.

Still this year, the Dusseldorf-based group will begin delivery of loitering Hero ammunition to the NATO and EU member state of Hungary as part of a large-volume order.
