One of our favorite EDC knives is the Izula by ESEE because it's simply a perfect mix of size and versatility. As much as we love this knife, we've been unsure about the sheath mounting so far. We found this modification in an American knife forum and want to share it with you:

There is obviously an appropriate clip, but with it, the Izula sticks out a lot from the pocket. And mounting it on the belt using paracord - whether horizontally or vertically - seems a bit martial in civilian settings and also adds some bulk. After some searching on the internet, we came across the Total Eclipse Clip from Nite Ize. This self-adhesive clip is meant to stick it to the smartphone so it doesn't easily fall out of the pants.

You will need:

  • a knife that you want to carry more discreetly
  • Total Eclipse Clip
  • a small strip of Kydex or Aluminum 1.5-2 mm thick, we used the latter
  • 2 screws with Chicago screws
  • drill with 5.5 mm bit
  • saw
  • file and/or fine sandpaper
  • spray paint (optional)

The rest is simple. Cut the aluminum strip to the desired length and round off/grind all edges. We chose 12 cm, so the knife sinks deep into the pocket. If you want it higher, simply cut it shorter. Then drill two holes and of course measure beforehand. Attach the strip to the sheath with the screws. Finally, stick the Total Eclipse Clip on the end properly and you're done.

Overall, this results in a very slim and stable mounting for your knife, allowing you to carry it somewhat concealed in your pocket. For the very lazy: you can also stick the clip directly to the sheath, but it will stick out further. Happy crafting! HERE is where you can find the clip.
