A little joke: "What do the five fingers say to the face? - SLAP!" That already explains the purpose of Slap Charges, just that you should replace "face" with "door." Today we'll show you how to build these powerful door openers in two ways, as non-functional props of course.
First, cut the foam or styrofoam into strips of 3.5cm width, 4cm height, and 45-50cm length. Then wrap them lengthwise with tanktape, whether olive or black is up to you. As a final step, seal the ends with 3-5 wraps of tape, attaching a 20-25cm long piece of nylon cord to one end. In the photos, it is often seen that a simple knot is made at the end of the ignition cord. Your Slap Charge Dummy is now complete.
That was the "Light Weight" version. For those who like it a bit heavier, the "Heavy Weight" version: for this, we will make our own modeling clay (if you have kids at home, you can involve them in this).
Materials needed:
You can find the instructions for making modeling clay here. We used half of the quantities for one dummy.
Once you have mixed your lump of modeling clay, simply knead it into shape. Once you are satisfied with the shape, wrap the whole thing tightly in cling film. Having a third or fourth hand is invaluable for this step. Once the modeling clay has been successfully wrapped, follow the same steps as the light version, covering it in tanktape.
Finally, a picture of the 2 variants and the Dummy from Proud. Top "Heavy", middle Proud, and bottom "Light". Happy crafting from Spartan.at!
