Learn how to easily attach a lanyard to your smartphone case with a simple DIY hack. All you need is a small drill, cord, and basic knotting skills. This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions and images to guide you through the process. Say goodbye to bulky pockets and hello to convenience with this creative solution.
Smartphones are great. We don't need to discuss that, but one thing is often missing with all the protective cases available for the phone: the ability to attach a lanyard. Luckily, we love to DIY and share our hack with you.
All you need is a small drill (1-1.5mm) and a thin, sturdy cord. We chose Mini-Paracord. Simply remove the case, a very important step, and drill two holes about 2 cm apart. If desired, you can also mill a small groove on the inside of the case so that the case does not protrude too far through the cord.
Then thread the cord through and secure with a tight knot. We chose the double fisherman's knot to ensure it holds well. Now there is nothing stopping you from attaching a lanyard. Even without a lanyard, the loop is useful as it makes it very easy to pull the smartphone out of deep, tight pockets. Happy crafting!
